Help me welcome an old schoolmate. Possibly ever since kindergarten through 12th grad
to my FB Poetry group! 👼 🔥 👼 "Elemtentary Influencer" "4th grades beginning" "An Artist's creation" Barbara it's been a breaking haul, of sitting in the same class and running the same halls.
4th grade was a blast, when Mrs. Gornto was head of the class.
She was a young leader,
And for sure a very unique teacher. She would share freely with us, And taught us that inspiration was just.
She exposed us to many great times and humbly influenced our youthful minds.
She took us to heart, and taught us to be blessed by art.
The very best of times, as
we knew she was very kind,
We even visited her house,
for a cookout one day, we ran around and cheerfully played.
Such a small town, and she eased our frowns, cheered us
Up when we were down.
As a teacher, she would watch us play, outside at recess almost everyday.
She had an idea, which
we could all have a voice,
She taught us that we could
live and rejoice.
She proposed her idea, one that would prevail, a poem book classic, one that we’d never turn back.
She was one of my favorite teachers, as she turned me into a believer.
Youthful minds aren’t always the same, but she let it blend, as she didn’t blame and cared about us to no end.
Patricia Ailstock, as her name turned out to be, she opened our minds and taught us to be free.
Those days were fun, as we learned to bask in the sun, playful and happy, the way that a child should be..
The book was a hit, as we sold copies of it, and I got my start to now what I call MY ART.
